As all the football lovers gear up for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and as all the people involved make the last minute modifications before the kick off, there’s someone else who’s working equally hard to make the gala event shine with the official rings. If you haven’t heard of official rings before, that’s because this is the first time the official rings have made it to FIFA. Colombian jeweler Enrique Vasquez after four years to convincing has finally got the rights to make 2,010 official rings for the tournament.

The rings will cost from $2,500 to $250,000 each and the design features soccer balls, stadiums and the flags of the 32 participating countries in the month-long extravaganza. There will also be 1,970 rings priced at $2,500 each and made of gold and silver featuring four emeralds. Among the blinged jewelry, there will be seven platinum rings of which one will be donated to FIFA and a gold ring will be given to UNICEF, to recognize their hard work to help disadvantaged children around the world. Another gold ring will be presented to the player voted as the tournament’s most valuable and it won’t be surprising to see if Messi and Ronaldo claim the prize.
